I bought this for a helix piercing, about halfway down my ear, right above where the helix turns into the lobe. It sits below part of an industrial piercing, and above 3 earlobe piercings. This shield just fits around the ear, and is even prettier and sparkler than in the picture. At 1" long, it is large enough to be a statement, but is still feminine and elegant. The only negative is that the gems are glued in, not bezel set, so be careful not to submerge them in water or cleaning liquid, and don't wear in the shower. I have not seen this kind of helix jewelry any where else, and am very pleased with its beauty and uniqueness.
