Sizing Piercing Jewelry

What Is “Gauge”?

The gauge of your piercing is the thickness of the bar that passes through your piercing—i.e., the barbell’s thickness. Note the system is inverse: a lower number = thicker bar. For example, a 12G barbell is thicker than a 20G barbell.

Piercing Jewelry “Length”

The length of your piercing jewelry refers to the wearable span of a straight or curved barbell—the section that sits inside the piercing. It’s measured end-to-end on the bar and excludes any ends, balls, or charms.

Piercing Jewelry “Diameter”

The diameter is used for circular styles—hoops, captives, clickers, seam rings, and circular barbells. Measure from the innermost, widest point across the inside of the hoop.

You'd be hard-pressed to get a greater sparkle from any other seam ring. The four diamonds aligning the beautifully polished 14k gold hoop achieve a sparkle that you have to see to believe. Each diamond is cut by hand, and no diamond outshines the other; they all provide their own fantastic shimmer. Believe it or not, the diamonds aren't the only star of this hoop; the solid, 14k gold is hand-polished to a luminous shine designed to last for years to come. The side-set diamonds make this a perfect hoop for piercings like the forward helix, tragus, rook, or any other piercing that shows the side of the jewelry.

  • Great for nostril, helix, forward helix, tragus, rook, conch, lobe, eyebrow, lip and navel piercings
  • Note: To open ring and insert into your piercing, place each of your thumbs to the left and right of the seam on the ring. Move one thumb towards you, and one thumb away from you, turning the hoop into a spiral. Insert the item into your piercing, and realign the ends to reform the hoop. It's important to not pull the ends apart; otherwise it will bend out of shape.
