What Is “Gauge”?

The gauge of your piercing is the thickness of the bar that passes through your piercing—i.e., the barbell’s thickness. Note the system is inverse: a lower number = thicker bar. For example, a 12G barbell is thicker than a 20G barbell.

Piercing Jewelry “Length”

The length of your piercing jewelry refers to the wearable span of a straight or curved barbell—the section that sits inside the piercing. It’s measured end-to-end on the bar and excludes any ends, balls, or charms.

Piercing Jewelry “Diameter”

The diameter is used for circular styles—hoops, captives, clickers, seam rings, and circular barbells. Measure from the innermost, widest point across the inside of the hoop.

The medieval dagger charm at the end of this beautiful chain accessory boasts intricate details in a dainty 11mm charm. Choose from two chain lengths, 10mm and 20mm, to best suit your style. Keep the charm length in mind; if you choose the 10mm chain, the entire piece will be 21mm in length. Because it is an accessory, it can be added to any hoop or stud in order to transform your existing jewelry into an entirely new piece. Due to the length of the accessory, this piece is ideal in a standard earlobe piercing, but you can also afford to be creative. The accessory can be added to any suitable body jewelry piece and can, therefore, be worn in any piercing that you desire.
