How to size a nose ring

A nose stud is defined by three things — its gauge (the bar's thickness), its backing style (how it stays in place), and its wearable length (the part that sits inside your piercing, which the style sets).

Gauge — the thickness of the bar

Most nose piercings use 20G (0.8mm) or 18G (1.0mm). Match the gauge to your piercing so the jewelry sits securely — the scale runs in reverse, so a smaller number is a thicker bar.

Backing style & length

The backing holds your stud in place, and it sets the wearable length:

  • Twist, Bone & L-Post — 1/4" (6mm) wearable length
  • Flat Back — 18G, 1/4" (6mm) wearable length
  • Straight Post — 3/8" (9mm), and can be bent to your fit
  • End Only — the decorative front on its own; a backing is sold separately

I love the dark rich red color of this gorgeous garnet. I plan to wear it in my 2nd nostril piercing after it is healed. I got the L bend version so that it can be worn in either of my nostrils.

Lost garnet

I purchased my garnet post nose ring and unfortunately lost it while I was in the hospital. I never had an issue with losing or having my nose rings falling out of my nose. However, I lost a series of three including the one I ordered from this site.
As a January baby, I MUST Reorder. The gemstone was delightfully made and was a welcome change from the diamond nose ring that I have been wearing for 8 years.
Looking forward to receiving it in the mail.

Super cute!

Was questioning this site because the name “Fresh Trends” just sounds sketch to me lol, but am not disappointed. I do wish that there was a option to have it made faster, I would pay for that but it took about two weeks? Maybe less, but as soon as it was shipped it came pretty quick. I got the smaller stud, I honestly thought the other ones would look too big but this is a bit smaller than I thought. Still what I wanted, v satisfied cute!
